Autonomous Vehicles
Autonomous vehicles, or better known as self-driving
vehicles, were once only believable in tales of science fiction. However, in
our modern day and age with all our current technology, autonomous vehicles are
no longer a fantasy gizmo from science fiction.
Tesla is a company who manufactures electronic items, such
as electronic lighters, solar cells, and electronic cars. Tesla offers a range
of self-driving, electric cars. Tesla is currently the leader in the autonomous
vehicle industry, with more than 180,000 cars sold and on the road gathering
data to aid in Teslas development of smarter self-driving cars.
What does this mean for the future of driving? Well,
autonomous vehicles come with a range of problems, many of them are safety and
security issues. Autonomous vehicles have yet to prove themselves 100%
failsafe, with Uber recently taking down its autonomous vehicle test fleet
after an accident in Arizona. These safety concerns, combined with car
enthusiasts, are the main reasons autonomous vehicles will not take over manual
driving vehicles anytime soon. Autonomous car manufacturers must figure out how
to smooth out all safety issues with self-driving cars, as well as figure out a
way to appeal to car enthusiasts who do not wish to give control over to a
computer. Failing to do so will only spell the end of the brief autonomous
vehicle period.
